πŸ™ GOD, HAVE I DISAPPOINTED YOU?

πŸŽ™️ THE QUESTIONS WE ARE AFRAID TO ASK GOD
Episode 3 | The Catholic Journey with Deacon Pat Kearns

Have you ever looked back on your life and wished you could erase something? A terrible decision, a broken relationship, words you wish you could take back, or mistakes that still haunt you years later?

GOD, ARE YOU REALLY LISTENING TO ME?

πŸ™ GOD, ARE YOU REALLY LISTENING TO ME?

πŸŽ™️ THE QUESTIONS WE ARE AFRAID TO ASK GOD
Episode 2 | The Catholic Journey with Deacon Pat Kearns

Have you ever prayed with all your heart, begged God for an answer, and heard nothing but silence?

Maybe you've prayed for healing, for a struggling marriage, for a child who has lost their faith, or for something in your life that desperately needs to change.

And after weeks, months, or even years of waiting, you've wondered:

"God, are You really listening to me?"

In this second episode of The Questions We Are Afraid to Ask God, we explore why God sometimes seems silent, what Scripture teaches us about unanswered prayers, and how we can continue trusting Him when life doesn't turn out the way we hoped.

❤️ Remember: God's silence does not mean God's absence.

Join me for this 7–8-minute reflection as we discover that prayer isn't simply about getting the answers we want. It's about growing closer to the God who already knows our hearts.

GOD, WHY DO YOU LET GOOD PEOPLE SUFFER?

πŸ™ GOD, WHY DO YOU LET GOOD PEOPLE SUFFER?

πŸŽ™️ NEW SERIES: THE QUESTIONS WE ARE AFRAID TO ASK GOD
Episode 1 | The Catholic Journey with Deacon Pat Kearns

Why does a loving God allow good people to suffer? Why do innocent children become sick, faithful families experience tragedy, and people who have devoted their lives to helping others face unimaginable hardships?

It's one of the most difficult questions we can ask God—and one that many of us have struggled with.

In this first episode of our powerful new series, The Questions We Are Afraid to Ask God, we explore what Scripture and our Catholic faith teach us about suffering, God's love, and finding hope when life doesn't make sense.

❤️ Here's something worth remembering: God doesn't promise us a life without suffering, but He does promise not to abandon us in it.

THREE THINGS EVERY FATHER WISHES HE COULD TEACH HIS DAUGHTER

❤️ THREE THINGS EVERY FATHER WISHES HE COULD TEACH HIS DAUGHTER

πŸŽ™️ The Catholic Journey with Deacon Pat Kearns

There was a time when a father could hold his little girl in his arms and make her feel safe from the world.

But little girls grow up. They begin living their own lives, facing their own struggles, and making their own decisions.

And every father eventually realizes that he won't always be there to protect his daughter.

So what are the most important lessons he hopes she'll remember?

In this heartfelt second episode of our special series on fatherhood, we explore three things every father wishes he could teach his daughter:

❤️ Know your worth. You are beautifully and wonderfully made by God. Never allow someone else to determine your value.

πŸ’• Never settle for a love that diminishes you. Choose relationships built on respect, kindness, faithfulness, and genuine love.

πŸ™ Have the courage to become the woman God created you to be. Follow your dreams, trust God's plan, and never allow fear to hold you back.

And perhaps the most important message a father could ever leave his daughter is this:

"You were my little girl for only a few years. But you will be my daughter for all eternity."

Whether you're a father, a daughter, or someone remembering a dad who is no longer here, this episode is a beautiful reminder that a father's greatest gift isn't his ability to protect his daughter forever, but the love and faith he leaves in her heart.

A SCHOOL BENEATH A TREE — THE STORY OF MY FRIEND BETO

❤️ A SCHOOL BENEATH A TREE — THE STORY OF MY FRIEND BETO ❤️

Many years ago, in a small Guatemalan village called GodΓnez, local farmers asked a teacher named Beto to open a school so their children could have a better future.

Beto had no money. But he had faith.

He prayed, listened to God, and began teaching children beneath a tree.

Decades later, that little dream has become a thriving school bearing his name. Countless children have been given opportunities because one man said YES to God.

Today, Beto needs our help.

He recently suffered a serious stroke and now needs a pacemaker, medications, and ongoing medical treatment. His family simply doesn't have the resources to cover these expenses.

Beto and his wife Ruth opened their home to Liz and me when we lived in Guatemala. He taught me more about faith, generosity, and serving others than he will ever know.

I wrote this song to honor my friend and tell his extraordinary story.

If many of us give just a little, together we can make an enormous difference.

Please consider donating, sharing this song, and praying for Beto and his family.

“WILL YOU ALSO LEAVE?”

 ✝️ EPISODE 8 — SERIES FINALE

“WILL YOU ALSO LEAVE?”
Things Jesus Said That We Still Don't Understand

πŸ“– John 6:60–69

What happens when following Jesus becomes difficult? When His teachings challenge us, our prayers seem unanswered, or life tests the very foundation of our faith?

After Jesus delivered His powerful teaching about the Bread of Life, many of His disciples turned away. Jesus then looked at the Twelve and asked a question that still speaks to every one of us today:

“Do you also want to leave?”

In this powerful final episode, Deacon Pat Kearns explores what it truly means to remain faithful when we don't have all the answers.

Through Peter's unforgettable response, “Master, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life,” we discover that genuine faith isn't about understanding everything. It's about trusting the One who does.

❤️ In this episode, we'll reflect on:

  • Why people sometimes walk away from their faith.

  • The difference between struggling with faith and abandoning it.

  • What Peter teaches us about trust and discipleship.

  • Why Jesus never promised that following Him would be easy.

  • How to remain close to Christ even during life's greatest challenges.

As we conclude this series, one truth stands above all others:

Faith isn't about having all the answers. It's about knowing the One who does.

πŸ™ Wherever you are in your spiritual journey, Jesus is still inviting you to follow Him.

The question is: Will you stay?

“Why Do You Call Me Good?”

✝️ THINGS JESUS SAID THAT WE STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND

πŸŽ™️ Episode 7 — “Why Do You Call Me Good?”

The Catholic Journey with Deacon Pat Kearns

πŸ“– Mark 10:17–27

Did Jesus actually question whether He was good?

A wealthy young man approached Jesus with one of the most important questions anyone could ask:

“Good teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life?”

But Jesus responded with something unexpected:

“Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone.” — Mark 10:18

Wait a minute! Was Jesus suggesting that He wasn't good? Was He denying that He was God? Or was He trying to teach this young man something far more profound?

In Episode 7 of our series, Things Jesus Said That We Still Don't Understand, we explore this fascinating encounter and discover that being a good person and truly following Jesus aren't always the same thing.

❤️ One of the most beautiful moments in this Gospel comes when Scripture tells us:

“Jesus, looking at him, loved him.” — Mark 10:21

Jesus saw a man who had followed the commandments, lived a respectable life, and genuinely wanted eternal life.

But there was one thing he couldn't let go of.

And when Jesus invited him to surrender it and follow Him, the young man walked away sad.

Here's the question this Gospel asks each of us:

What is the one thing in your life that might be keeping you from following Jesus more completely?

Maybe it's money, pride, fear, resentment, the need for control, or simply the comfort of living life on your own terms.

πŸ™ In this episode, we'll explore why Jesus challenged this young man, what true goodness means, and why God's invitation to surrender something is often an invitation to discover something greater.

Jesus doesn't simply want us to be good people. He wants us to become His disciples.

And the most beautiful part?

Even when we struggle to let go, Jesus looks at us with love.

🎧 Join me for this meaningful reflection. You may discover that the very thing you've been holding onto is what God is inviting you to release.

HE LOOKED AT ME AND LOVED ME

✝️ HE LOOKED AT ME AND LOVED ME ❤️

🎢 A new original Christian rock ballad inspired by Mark 10:17–27 and Episode 7 of The Catholic Journey.

A young man came to Jesus searching for eternal life. He had followed the commandments and lived a good life, but there was one thing he couldn't let go of.

And Scripture tells us something beautiful:

“Jesus, looking at him, loved him.” — Mark 10:21

❤️ Sometimes Jesus asks us to let go of things not because He wants to take something away, but because He wants to give us something greater.

This song is about surrender, second chances, and the incredible love of a Savior who sees our struggles and loves us anyway.

“I Came Not to Bring Peace, but a Sword”

✝️ THINGS JESUS SAID THAT WE STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND

πŸŽ™️ Episode 5 — “I Came Not to Bring Peace, but a Sword”

The Catholic Journey with Deacon Pat Kearns

πŸ“– Matthew 10:34–39

Did Jesus really say He came to bring a sword instead of peace?

How could the same Jesus who taught us to love our enemies, forgive those who hurt us, and become peacemakers say something so shocking?

Was Jesus encouraging conflict? Division? Even violence?

Absolutely not. But His message may challenge you more than you expect.

In this powerful fifth episode of our series, Things Jesus Said That We Still Don't Understand, we explore one of the most misunderstood teachings of Jesus.

We discover that following Christ doesn't always make life easier. Sometimes it creates tension in our families, challenges our relationships, and requires us to stand firm when the world pressures us to compromise our beliefs.

❤️ And here's something especially important:

Many Catholic parents know the heartbreak of watching their children walk away from the faith. How do we remain faithful to Christ while continuing to love those who no longer share our beliefs?

Jesus reminds us that we don't have to choose between standing for truth and treating others with love.

Real Christian courage isn't about winning arguments. It's about remaining faithful to Christ without losing our compassion for others.

πŸ™ In this episode, we'll reflect on the true meaning of the sword, the cost of discipleship, and why the peace Jesus promises is so much deeper than simply avoiding conflict.

Here's a question worth asking yourself today:

Are you willing to stand for your faith, even when doing so comes at a personal cost?

🎧 Join me for this thought-provoking reflection. You may never hear these words of Jesus the same way again.

NOT PEACE, BUT A SWORD!

🎸πŸ”₯

NOT PEACE, BUT A SWORD!
✝️

A Powerful New Catholic Rock Song!

What if following Jesus doesn't always make life easier? What if standing for your faith sometimes means standing alone?

In Matthew 10:34, Jesus said something shocking:

“I have come to bring not peace but the sword.”

But Jesus wasn't calling us to violence or hatred. He was reminding us that following Him takes courage, conviction, and sometimes sacrifice.

🎢 My new original rock song, “Not Peace, But a Sword,” brings this powerful Gospel message to life with driving guitars, explosive energy, and lyrics that challenge us to live our faith boldly.

❤️ One of my favorite lines from the song:

“I don't want to win the argument,
If it means I lose your heart.”

Because being a Christian isn't about winning arguments, condemning others, or creating division.

It's about standing for truth without ever abandoning love.

In a world filled with anger, division, and uncertainty, we need Christians who have the courage to stand firm in their faith and the compassion to love those who disagree with them.

🎸 Turn up the volume, listen to the message, and ask yourself:

Am I willing to stand for Christ, even when it's difficult?

πŸ™ I hope this song inspires you to be courageous in your faith, gentle in your words, and unwavering in your love for Jesus.

STILL CATHOLIC, STILL BECOMING

🎢 STILL CATHOLIC, STILL BECOMING ✝️❤️

A song for a generation trying to balance life, faith, and everything in between.

Your 30s can be complicated. Careers, marriage, raising children, paying bills, chasing dreams, and sometimes wondering if you're becoming the person God created you to be.

And somewhere in the middle of it all, there's your faith.

Maybe you attend Mass every Sunday. Maybe you've drifted away from the Church. Maybe you still believe in God but have more questions than answers.

This song is for you.

Being Catholic doesn't mean having a perfect life. It doesn't mean never questioning, never struggling, or never falling.

It means believing that even in our imperfections, God's grace is still at work.

It means remembering that the Eucharist is still there, God's mercy is still waiting, and no matter how far we've wandered, there's always a way home.

One of my favorite lines from this new song is:

🎡 "I'm not perfect, never claimed to be, but there's grace enough for someone like me."

I wrote "Still Catholic, Still Becoming" as a reminder that faith isn't something we finish learning in childhood. It's a lifelong journey of growing, questioning, falling, getting back up, and discovering just how deeply God loves us.

If you're in your 30s, I hope this song speaks to your heart. And if you're older, perhaps it will remind you of your own journey.

❤️ You don't have to have it all figured out to belong to God.

🎧 Take a few minutes to listen, and please share this with someone who might need to hear it.

“Let the Dead Bury Their Dead”

✝️ THINGS JESUS SAID THAT WE STILL DON'T UNDERSTAND

πŸŽ™️ Episode 4 — “Let the Dead Bury Their Dead”
The Catholic Journey with Deacon Pat Kearns

πŸ“– Luke 9:59–60

Did Jesus really tell someone not to bury his own father?

At first glance, these words of Jesus seem shocking, even harsh. How could the same Jesus who wept at the tomb of Lazarus tell someone to let the dead bury their dead?

But what if Jesus wasn't really talking about death at all? What if he was teaching us something profound about how we should live?

In this powerful fourth episode of our series, Things Jesus Said That We Still Don't Understand, Deacon Pat Kearns explores one of the most challenging statements in the Gospels.

We'll discover why Jesus calls us to put God first, the spiritual danger of constantly saying "someday," and how easily we can become so busy living our lives that we forget what truly matters.

❤️ Here's the question for today: What is God asking you to do that you've been putting off?

Maybe it's forgiving someone, returning to prayer, reconnecting with your faith, or simply telling someone you love them.

Jesus reminds us that following him isn't something we should postpone until tomorrow.

The time to begin is today.

❤️ MERCY STILL CALLS MY NAME ❤️

❤️ MERCY STILL CALLS MY NAME ❤️

A Song About God's Unending Love and Forgiveness

Have you ever looked back at your life and wondered if you've made too many mistakes for God to forgive?

Have you ever carried guilt so heavy that you began to believe you were beyond His mercy?

I think we've all experienced moments when our past seems bigger than our hope.

But here's something I want you to remember today:

Your mistakes do not have to define your future. And your sins are never greater than God's mercy.

I wrote this song, “Mercy Still Calls My Name,” as a companion to Episode 3 of our series, Things Jesus Said That We Still Don't Understand, where we explore the meaning of the unforgivable sin.

The message is simple but powerful.

God never runs out of mercy. He continues inviting us to repent, return to Him, and receive His forgiveness.

No matter how far you've wandered, you can turn toward Him.

🎢 “No night too dark, no road too long, Your love is calling me back home.”

If you're carrying regret, shame, or something from your past that you've struggled to surrender, I hope this song reminds you that God has not stopped calling you.

His mercy still calls your name.

Take a few minutes to listen. And if you know someone who needs a little hope today, please share this song with them.

WHAT IS THE UNFORGIVABLE SIN? — CAN GOD REALLY REFUSE TO FORGIVE?

Jesus taught us that God's mercy is infinite. But in Mark 3:29, He warned that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is an eternal sin.

What did He mean?

WHY DID JESUS SAY THE RICH MAY NOT ENTER HEAVEN?

Things Jesus Said That We Still Don't Understand — Episode 2

Did Jesus really teach that wealthy people cannot enter heaven?

In Matthew 19, Jesus tells His disciples that it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the Kingdom of God.

But what did He really mean?

Is having money sinful? Does God expect us to give away everything we own? And how much is too much?

In today's episode of The Catholic Journey with Deacon Pat Kearns, we explore the encounter between Jesus and the rich young man, the dangers of becoming attached to possessions, and what the Catholic Church teaches about wealth, generosity, and eternal life.
