“One Day at a Time” is an emotional song inspired by my book, Healing from Alcoholism – A 40-Day Catholic Journey. The book reminds us that recovery is not simply about giving something up—it is about healing, surrender, renewal, and learning to walk in freedom through the grace of Christ.
This song is about bringing the chains to the foot of the Cross—the failures, the broken promises, and the pain—and allowing Jesus to begin something new. It is about realizing that we are not defined by our addiction or our past, but by the love of God and the person He is calling us to become.
You don’t have to conquer the rest of your life today.
Sometimes the prayer is simply:
“Jesus, give me the strength for this day.”
