Today was a great day spending time with Friends. (My son Sean, Father Avram, Nicole and her brother Timmy)It was a beautiful summer day on the upper Sacramento River. We had a 3 1/2 hour ride down the river. The current was slower than it had been earlier in the summer but we still managed to hit a few rapids and each one of had an opportunity to flip out of our kayaks. Yes, the water is still freezing even late in the summer.Spending time with friends is such an important part of a balanced life. We can get so caught up with the day to day events and the "to do" lists that we forget about the benefits of spending time with others. Being able to listen to others and hearing what is on their minds can give a person a larger perspective on life.Being able to enjoy other people, their behaviors, their actions, their uniqueness, allows us to see the good in others.God created all of us and He created us in his image. To be able to see God in others allows us to become closer to God. Today was a simple but pleasurable day. Thank God for friends and simple sharing days.

Spending Time With Friends
