Prior to my Diaconate formation and subsequent ordination, My wife and I participated in a Lay Formation Program by the name of DJM's (Disciples of Jesus and Mary). The formation was a 3 year process that included a 3 step program with a focus in the following areas:
Prayer
Discernment
Discipleship
The program also taught that there are 5 principles that are to be applied to our lives, they are as follows:
1. Nothing happens accidentally but everything in gifted providentially
2. Since everything is in the plan of God for you, everything has a purpose.
3. God created man and woman in His image and likeness.
4. To the one who is given much, much will be expected.
5. God created us as unique individuals.
Think about these principles, they apply to each and everyone of us, and if sincerely applied to our lives, can help us to understand this life, God's actions in our lives, and to help identify our unique purpose.
