Our first (1 of 2) planned visits to New York City is almost here.
We will travel to the Salesian International Headquarters located in New Rochelle, April 9-13, 2015, for a discernment / training retreat.
Liz and I are so excited to finally meet to Salesian team and some of the other missionaries that are planning to also leave this summer on mission. Some of the missionaries will travel to South America, others to Cambodia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Malawi, South Sudan, and Vietnam
To save money we booked a red-eye flight so we will fly all night and end up in NYC in the early morning, (Pray we get some sleep or Friday will be a really long day! :)
When we arrive in New York:
- We will catch a shuttle
- Then hop on the subway to Grand Central Station
- Then transfer onto a commuter train to arrive in New Rochelle
- Then catch a taxi to the retreat site.
We are packing very light, one medium rucksack each so we can travel light and easy.
One of the highlights of the trip will be when the retreat has ended and we get the opportunity to spend Sunday evening and night with the C.F.R.'s
After meeting Father Anthony recently he invited us to stay in their guest room if ever in town. Well, we will be in town and we also need a place to stay for the night, so what a perfect opportunity.
We will post another update and pictures when we return.
Thanks to everyone who donated and supported us allowing us to attend this mandatory preparation retreat. Without your help our mission would not be possible. :)
Deacon Pat
