So many of us attempt to learn about certain issues and documents through the interpretation of others. This is often necessary for complex issues since teachers often have a skill at taking complex issues and subjects and breaking them down to the level of simpler understanding. However, when we rely of others for this type of teaching, we run the risk of hearing and learning from the perspective of the teacher and this might or might not be the intent of the originator.
When it comes to teachings from our church, the Pope and Magisterium, they have the protection of the Holy Spirit that everything having to do with Faith and Morals will be taught without err.
So my point here is, don't neglect to read the teaching straight from the Magisterium, straight from the Pope for yourself. Sure you can use other resources and people to help understand the information, but don't neglect the original for fear that you might be given heresy instead of holiness.
