Living a Life "In The Light"

Jesus said to the Twelve: “Fear no one. Nothing is concealed that will not be revealed, nor secret that will not be known.

What I say to you in the darkness, speak in the light; what you hear whispered, proclaim on the housetops.

And do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul; rather, be afraid of the one who can destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.

Are you subject to Gossip?

Do you live life as if everything in your life was transparent to the world?

Are there things in your life that you keep hidden because you know that they are wrong?

Have you allowed evil to slowly penetrate your life, your mind, your soul. Have you created habits that only you, the devil and God are aware of. Habits that are not bringing you closer to God, but rather away from God, and closer to the one who can kill the body and the soul?

Bring your secretes out of the darkness and into the light. A secrete is only powerful when it is kept in the dark. Once brought out into the light, it is not secrete any longer, and then the power of light, truth, and love will make it disappear.

We Catholics have the healing sacrament of confession.

Jesus in all of his wisdom, created confession when he stated to Peter:

"I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven."

The Devil is cunning and relentless, but has very little power. His only power is through deception and when we allow him to enter into our lives through sin. The acts of sin feed off each other until we have polluted ourselves with so much that is unholy that the grace of God has little room to penetrate.

Living a life in the light and truth of God is the only method for true peace and happiness. When living such a life, also cognisant of the evil at work in the world, there is little to fear.
