2-3 months or so ago we started "SPORTS NIGHT" in our parish hall.
So every Thursday afternoon at 5:00 pm a tear down crew lead by Tim and Cindy put the 5000 tables and chairs away and turn the hall into a gym.
We start with a prayer and off we go........We play indoor Soccer and have a great time.
I am so impressed how this simple concept of getting together each Thursday night to play a sport in a Christian environment has taken off so fast.
We started off with about 15 kids showing up, but now over 30 of all ages show up. Many Kids bring their friends with them and we see new faces each week.
What a great opportunity to evangelize and share our faith by just being who we are and having fun.
We have so many kids show up that they take turns waiting to play. Thankfully it is a fast moving game and once you are scored upon, a new team takes your place on the floor. Too fast and busy to get boarded.
We have joined two communities (Anglo and Hispanic) by choosing the sport of Soccer as our first sport. Volleyball and basketball are soon to follow.
